Fuel prices increased...... Bit by Bit (3)

I have financial problems, I need to make ends meet. @*#&!$% the people that made that decision to increase so much. At least do it bit by bit la.

One of the suggestion was to increase the price but in phases. True that it has its advantages but no point crying over spilled milk.

Then i thought, a whole lum sum was also good. At least it's felt. Either way everyone (or if not most) of us would be able to adapt to it anyway. It's that human thingy. Time still ticks and life goes on.

Why the lum sum and what do we feel?

Let's face it. We caused the price increase.

Let's consider another story and equation =p

1) (E) Earth = big building (limited space)
2) (R) Resources = un-used paper/wire/glass/etc (limited)
3) (H) Inhabitants/Users = people
*considering that it's us that cause the most rapid change
4) (A) Human actions = using up space/paperwork/computers
5) (Eff -/+) Effects (Disaster/better lifestyle) = Fire
* the reason why i chose fire is because we are doing more harm compared to good (at least for the time being)

For survival and development , H uses alot of E and R which are limited right?

When a fire breaks out within the big building, the inhabitants would have to quickly put it out, common sense speaking, doing it bit by bit would definately cause the whole (if not most of it) building to be destroyed.

An arguement point would be that there will be sprinkerles putting out the flame. But again no point having loads of paper works, super computers and other super gadgets if it causes fire to occur frequently and steps are not taken.

Same as in reality, we have handphones, laptops, cars, super gadgets to help us in our daily activities. Considering that our rate of pollution is higher than the 3R (re-use, -re-cycle, re-duce). The bit by bit action will only draw us closer to the deadly disaster.

We are developing in a way that we often forget about where we really are. It's a fact not many admits

Fuel prices increased...... Why you should support (2)

I partly support the fuel increase because:-

1) Less motorcycle stuntmen wannabes and the 'feared riders'

Last time whenever I pass near schools there would be a few students trying the ride on one wheel if not fly with both(especially after school) but now, they are no where to be seen. I would credit this to the fuel increase. At least they would now consider their un-entertaining act. At least unwanted deaths or injuries could be reduced (what if that person die, who's to blame?). The number of riding thiefs should if not permanent then temporarily be down for a while unless they are that efficient in targeting and scouting.

2) Less pollution

Our Earth is facing a very critical moment, frequent unexpected freak weather could very well be caused by global warming. Earth whether we like it or not can go on without us but we can't without Earth. How do we make people know what critical means? I think it's till we ourselves experience huge massive disaster that we realiase.

In the show The 11th Hour, a person mentioned that we are like 'invaders' which feeds on earth just like how bacteria grows on wet bread (the science experience most of us did). I didn't believe until i saw it and thought that it was quite true.

Here's the link http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
(zoom to any Town eg. KL and look at the greens and buildings)

In the name of development, we had taken over the surface of earth. We formed a crust on the surface of Earth with our buildings. Same like how bacteria grows on bread.

Air is perhaps one of the most important and yet it's the worse polluted. There is no one man-made filter which could clear the air as wonderful as how trees do.

Before the fuel prices increased, people everywhere were going green and encouraging others to pollute less. The most famous is that we should cut back on green house gasses. YES to less air-cond, YES to public transport, YES to carpool-ing. All in the name of reducing green house gasses. There were also calls to appreciate nature more.

However, when prices surged up, many complained (as said earlier we will only realize after a disaster). Before the occurance, there were calls for cut in usage but when certain measures which led to such cuts in a different way generated an opposite stand. FYI (for your info) and logically speaking, to tackle problems related to pollution it needs to done in massive measures and not just a certain portion of the population baring in mind the criticallity of the situation. Of course when fuel prices increase, prices of other comodities would follow on to increase and some might decrease. Instead of saying the need to spend more, try looking from the point of appreciation. Appreciate it more (cut wastage).

The BIT BY BIT in Episode 3

Fuel prices increased...... The ones we as drivers missed out (1)

When the prices of fuel increased, almost everyone started to think of alternatives. Generally it was :-

1) travel less

2) public transport

3) share transport (carpool)

In a way, it sacrificed convenience. (like duh~~~)

Of course some couldn't as it's part of work to travel alot and some whom were able to support the change

However here are some forgotten methods/alternatives which i think many would have missed out. I don't think it's so much of the price but rather the comsumption. Consume less and you'll spend less. Below is/are my consideration(s)

1) Consider installing a proper air-intake system or air-compressor

A car is just a car to many. Once you buy or own one, you will most likely just look at the scope of using it to get you to places.

Buy/own/rent car -> Use/buy fuel -> Sell car

Imagine that your car is like a basic house. For extra comfort, you add in furniture and to some extend renovate it. Like a car, such things could and should be done.

Sometimes while driving in town a car will just VVRRROOOOOMMMMMM~~ pass you with the big exhaust and loud speakers. These are the people we should learn from in terms of making our car more comfortable.

Going back to the point, what does that have to do with fuel price increase?

Most car works like how we breathe

1) Air Intake (In-hale)

2) Air + Fuel (food supply)

3) Energy

4) Air Output (Ex-hale)

A factory made car usually is given a factory grade air system (well you will know what quality it is then). When you have a proper air intake the fuel released gets burned more thus releasing more energy. One would say that burning more would mean using more fuel. In my opinion that is not true.

F = Fuel A = Air E = Energy (main) e = energy

1) F + A = E

* NOTE THAT - The amount of fuel released depends on the amount of acceleration

2) F + A + A = E + e

2) Adding an air intake system merely adds more air for the combustion

3) E + e = more distance

The above equation is what I think the work out would be like.

I would be rather silly to explain something un-affordable wouldn't I?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

there are various type of air intake systems available in the market depending on the amount and extend you are going to consider. As for me, i just added a very basic air-compressor. It is just one part of the entire system and cost around RM180 with installation. If you buy a car magazine, the promotion would state that it could save from 4-12% of fuel consumption.

2) Taking care of the engine....... Shifting gears

Engine is what converts the energy and makes the car run. Therefore, if the engine is spoiled or poorly maintained, not all energy will be used to run the car. That would most likely mean that more fuel would be consumed.

In my opinion,
At least 60% of the cars we see are automatic cars. Most of the time only 3 are used. P - park, D - drive and R - reverse. The next time you stop at any traffic lights, try using N - neutral, although I can't confirm the use of it I believe that it helps the engine in terms that it gets to rest abit. Gear 3 and 2, this gear are known as the lower gears (not all cars have both). The difference between D and 3 and/or 2 is that when going up hill, the engine of the car would be able to focus it's power to climb instead of reaching the limit to switch gear. Going down hill, 3 and/or 2 helps control the car rather than to let its speed rocket uncontrollably. You might not even have to step on your brakes at times (errmmm.... rather step but not that often).

The above are methods i think could be put to practice if one had over-looked. Look on the bright side, it's still more convenient. ^^

Life - the series (part 1).......... Today I died (2)

A year ago in the month of May (May 2007), i sat down by a bookshelf at Nirvana Memorial Centre and i came across a little book entitled Life. I didn't really read the entire thing but rather just glance through to pass my time.
I can't really remember the full content but if i would ever be going there again, i would kindly get a copy of that booklet and share it here.

The author (a Buddhist) did talk about why suffering was a need in life as he later grew. As for the ending, well, i would say it had a more impacting one compared to other books. The author wrote about the day he died (not because he didn't want to continue living but through natural cause).

It sounds something like this:-

If you read this please read it out to everyone present here at my funeral.

Hi everyone. Today, I died. Be happy for me because i have left the sufferings of the world. When I was born I cried. I cried because I was born to endure life, its suffering and finally die.......................... (his words of appreciation)

I came across the above when i was at my late aunt's wake. She left behind her husband and two very young and loving children (aged 7 and 2) as well as all her family members, relatives, and friends. It was saddening as she departed quite unexpectedly. The author inspired me to prepare this little farewell note a head as i think it would serve as great source of comfort for those whom we leave behind. I think it would be in fact be a suprise even for our loved ones. Maybe one fine day i shall also do that, well not to be a show off but we never know when our time here is up.

Life - the series (part 1)..........The beginning of a long story (1)

LIFE. Life is the existence in the physical world. It is the quality that makes living animals and plants different from dead organisms and inorganic matter.

Often time we hear people saying life is short, my life is so boring, why does time pass so slow, time really lfies, etc. How do we live by that? Live life to the fullest (or as if it's there is no tomorrow). But how do we do that?

Life is a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once.

.... For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

James 4:14

Life can't give me joy and peace; it's up to me to will it. Life just give me time and space; it is up to me to fill it.

"..... I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live."

Deuteronomy 30:19

Welcome.. A short introduction

Greetings and Welcome to N3on1cKy,

Personal details, well if you are interested i suggest you find out by your own means. I go by the name neonicky when i am on the internet. 'Neo' to me usually pictures something new or in the future. 'Nicky' well it sounds quick and catchy.

What made me started blogging? Well i am unable to review an answer at this point of time but the word LIFE would be the answer. A single word, life.

When blogging was getting popular in the sense that i took notice of it was around the year 2004. I did subcribe for one but did not maintain it. In simple sense, let's just say i had no motivation in it.

What motivated me to start (has, had and still is running around my head - soon it will be accrued to you as you continue reading) is attending funerals. Obviously not any funeral but those close and dear to me personally.

In total, there are 3 very impacting ones to me. The first one dated 2nd July 2006 - my all time favourite teacher, the late Mr Ravindran. Second dated 10th May 2007 - my aunt, the late Mrs Lydia. The most recent, - my grandmother, the late Mdm Ong.

When one attends a wake of those very dear to you, well as far as i am concerned and had been through, there is this 'quiet time' where you have moments of flashbacks. Each hold a very exceptionately special personal meaning. Thus, the word LIFE sums it all.

if possible, i suggest that you listen to the song 'at the beginning' by richard marx and donna lewis
